Yesterday was a special day. Not just because it was St. Patrice’s day and everyone was wearing green and talking about Ireland (I loved that!). It was because I had the opportunity to speak to a group of ladies from every church in my home town Webster City. These ladies were very welcoming and encouraging and I wanted to be able to share the gospel for any who may be relying on their religious ways for salvation. I also wanted to encourage and challenge those who know the Lord. It turned out to be a neat time and I really enjoyed the challenge of speaking to a different age group. Afterwords I was able to sneak over for a visit to a dear couple Bob and Clysta (In picture above) who I grew up going to church with. They gave me a hug and kiss every Sunday for at least 15 years of my life! It was so great to visit and be so encouraged by them.
God has been providing really neat opportunities this whole month/week for me to speak from the word and to also share about Ireland. I was able to work with the youth at the Chicago Missionary Study Class this past Saturday, organizing music, games, and sharing about how God has lead me to Ireland. Tonight my church is having an “Irish Tea” to celebrate St. Pattie’s day and to get excited about sending me off this fall. We’re planning lots of games, music, food, a jig, and a presentation introducing the people I’ll work with.
Please pray for God to keep working through what people have heard and are going to hear. He promises that His word does not return void.
